Re: Silence Finder seems to have a memory leak
I am not really up on VST... What I would be very interested in knowing is how long a VST plug-in takes to process a 70 minute stereo WAV on your Windows 7 setup compared to 1.3.8. 1.3.12 is often reported on Windows to be taking 10 times longer to run VST effects than 1.3.8, and up to 50% slower f...

Re: finer resolution in Silence Finder
What is Edgar's use case? Gale First, don't make changes to accommodate me--I can make the changes on my personal Audacity if the changes would impact others' ease-of-use. My case is probably unique and borders on violating "fair use" rules. I am a music addict; I turn the stereo on as I get out of...

Re: finer resolution in Silence Finder
A barely noticeable difference, certainly not significant. Sounds good to me. How about the functionality? is it picking up the short silences OK? Doing extremely well on that. In a 3hr recording of a radio broadcast it only missIDed 2 "grand pauses" as track separations--well within tolerance. The...

Re: finer resolution in Silence Finder
With the new code, processing a file* that is six hours 15 minutes long, the progress dialog remained on the screen for four minutes 34 seconds**; after the progress dialog closed an additional five minutes and 51 seconds elapsed before the label track with the markers appeared. Processing the same ...

Re: finer resolution in Silence Finder
I just used it to process a 2hr 45min mp3. It worked just fine but there was a long delay after the progress dialog disappeared before the markers & label track appeared. I am not sure if the old version had as long a delay. It also seemed to be noticeably slower--not something I would complain abou...

Re: Silence Finder seems to have a memory leak
Thanks. Do you get the same results with the built-in effects, or VST effects? Bug 86 suggests there is a global (?) problem with memleaks in effects previews. Gale Ignoring preview (which I have never tried), I tested Amplify, Bass Boost and Change Speed none of which showed the problem. I am not ...

Re: Silence Finder seems to have a memory leak
Only Silence Finder, or all Nyquist plug-ins? Perhaps when you know that, add the information to this summary memory leaks bug . Gale I saw the same on all Nyquist plug-ins. I am guessing it is some artifact of allocating in one place and freeing somewhere the debugger does not know about. I enable...

This is no longer of public interest--I sent you a PM.trym wrote:I think the assumption of running over night with no other programs being started is fine. So an AutoIt3 script might be sufficient
