Re: Visual Studio 2010 Pro

Well, surprisingly enough, wxWidgets built fine with no errors in VS 2010 targeting x64....I'll post the log, but the thing is huge so let me see if I can put together a good representative sample without having to post every iteration of the same basic error. As noted above wxWidgets compiled with...

Re: Visual Studio 2010 Pro

... building wxWidgets, I have downloaded it, I open the instructions and nowhere does it mention Windows 7, let alone x64. Am I out of luck here? I want to contribute, but thats whetre I am guys. I'm on Windows 7 64 bit, I'm using VS 2010 Pro. Can I proceed with a build guide that doesn't referenc...

Re: Visual Studio 2010 Pro

Steve is right, the Audacity Development Team considers VS2010 too buggy to support at this time. There is a bug in Audacity's Bugzilla database: http://bugzilla.audacityteam.org/show_bug.cgi?id=178 but recent discussions on the audacity -devel list serve make it apparent the Audacity Developers do ...

Re: Suggestions for bundled GVerb plugin

Have you made any progress with compiling/patching on Windows? I got it to compile as noted above but stopped when I could not figure out the -70 vs. -63 thing. We would either need to get one set of figures which worked on all three platforms or figure out how to get the same results (defaults bei...

Re: AUP and DATA - Save or delete?

What I do NOT do is delete the original raw data. What is the original raw data if it isn't .aup and .data? A thousand pardons, please! When I said "Save As" I really meant "Export"! As Koz says, Audacity does not "Save As" except for Projects. After all this time and even I get bitten by that!

Re: No drag & drop in Windows Seven 32 bit

Thanks for sticking with me on this! I am glad that you got the problem resolved. As a programmer (but not really part of the Audacity Team) I sometimes get quite specific in my details and often overwhelm the general user <grin>. I am glad you brought the problem up instead of just giving up on a f...

Steve,

I find it somewhat depressing that your post to -devel garnered not a single reply.

Re: AUP and DATA - Save or delete?

Exactly right--I do the same. After I get my final WAV or MP3 I delete both the AUP file and the _data folder. One may always start a new project with the WAV or MP3. What I do NOT do is delete the original raw data. So, for instance, if I start Audacity and record something, the very first thing I ...

Re: No drag & drop in Windows Seven 32 bit

Sorry if I got off on the wrong foot with my previous post. As you can see, drag 'n' drop might mean many things and until you told me exactly "what and how" I could not tell if it was a "bug" or a "missing feature". The drag 'n' drop situation may well have changed from 1.2 to 1.3.13 rc2 (I am not ...

Re: No drag & drop in Windows Seven 32 bit

Drag 'n' Drop can have different meanings and works slightly different on XP as compared to Win7 (for some of the D 'n' Ds). 1) You can drag an audio file's real icon onto an open Project window. 2) You can drag an audio the file's real icon onto the Audacity app's icon. 3) You can drag a shortcut t...
