Automating something

I'm trying to figure out how to automate something I will do a lot. I record Spanish lessons over Skype. I have the audio as two tracks: one is me, one is my teacher. I want to speed up the sections where I am speaking. My Spanish is slow and halting, and could probably be sped up by 2x without any ...

Great point about getting the two tracks separately. As it happens, I use Mac, not Windows, which means no Pamela.

I use Ecamm's Skype Call Recorder, which saves a single Quick Time file -- but they apparently DO have a "splitter" that allows you to convert to two tracks. Thanks for the suggestion!

Is there any way to distinguish voices in Audacity?

Suppose I have a voice recording with 2 people speaking. And I want to apply certain edits to one speaker (speed them up, raise pitch, whatever) but not to the other one. Is there any way Audacity can tell peoples' voices apart? Having done that...how do you tell it to modify those particular sectio...
