Re: AUP File format information
I have an alternate explanation why Audacity loads the waveform faster: It makes a lot of very small files. A very small file possibly is easy to read for waveform. So it quickly builds the waveform and depending on the zoom factor of the view Audacity need not examine all of them (my hypothesis......

And if you really want to get retro you could add a short burst of pink noise before the voice to simulate the squelch effect of two-way radios.kozikowski wrote:If you add the distortion, too (as above), you get the Air Traffic Control voice.

Re: Alter Voices to sound like fighter pilot or space man
For space men try the Phaser or Vocoder effects.
For helmet mics try the Equalizer effect, cutting the frequencies below 200 Hz and above 3000 Hz. For distortion (simulating the automatic gain control and voice activation of helmet mics) try the Leveller effect at its highest setting.

Re: Problems Saving
Are you sure you're using version 1.2.x? This is a known issue in 1.3.x but has only been reported when typing text into labels. "Label tracks: typing "j" or"k" in a label may activate the "move cursor" shortcut instead. Not reproducible to order, but very likely to occur with large numbers of label...

Re: iTunes compatability
Ion suggested using audacity - hence how I got here. What do you think would be the best fix for this problem? Orb What''s the problem? Ion seems to suggest that Easy Vinyl Convertor won't work and that you should use Audacity instead. Now you've got Audacity. Problem solved. I'll bet Easy Vinyl wa...

Re: How to mix files on 1.3.9?
Dizzy asked me by PM: "thank you for answering bill but I have one question yes I mean mixing songs together and said "just put each song on its own stereo track then use the time shift tool to shove them" do you think you can clarify that more? Like what do you mean its own stereo track?" Dizzy: Yo...

Re: How to mix files on 1.3.9?
First of all, you're in the wrong forum. Maybe one of the admins can move this to the 1.3.x forum, where it might get more attention. Second, what do mean by <<mix two songs or more together>>? If you mean crossfading a number of songs to create a seamless mix, just put each song on its own stereo t...

Re: Compressor effect
It's not broken, it's just a bit strange. "Peak" compression is an "upward compression" which boosts low signal levels to compress the high level dynamics. When "Peak" is not selected it bases the compression on rms levels and is the more familiar "downward compression" (lowers high level signals)....
