Re: Audacity mangles filenames on export (BUG?)
We diff'd the source code of ExportMP3.cpp and found the calls to the "wx" widget libraries changed. Note that in 1.2.6 the project name gets truncated with the inode number. So it's not necessarily anything to do with ExportMP3.cpp. Also note that I got a nasty crash when I tried to edit the expor...

Re: Audacity mangles filenames on export (BUG?)
This appears to be a limitation of Audacity 1.2.6 Using 1.3.10 I created a new project, imported some audio, then exported it as a WAV with your exact filename: JT7L - 20091101 - rehearsal- amp death.wav. Re: aligning tracks
This is very complicated. My copy of audacity doesn't have a recording tab... Go to Edit > Preferences. On the left of the Preferences dialog there is a list of "tabs". One of them is "Recording". That's where you'll find the latency correction entry box. Once you set the latency correction all you...

Chaucer? Anyway, I hate "oe"s too. And it's tomato, with an A, not an ahhhhh. And we "do the dishes": we don't "wash up." :D I not sure we can tolerate this behavi ou r. It col ou rs our perceptions. The hon ou rable thing to do is simply let it be. Otherwise, we'll have to stuff you in the boot of...

Re: aligning tracks
I am using 1.3 and can't figure out how to align multiple tracks. When I upload an mp3 and then record with that mp3 the timing is off by about one second. I need the tracks to be aligned. Help. You're overdubbing right? Playing along with the mp3? You need to set your latency correction: http://ma...

Re: Splitting files "automatically"
Ah, yes. You're in the 1.3.x forum so I assumed you had 1.3.x.Carey wrote:Under Analyze in my version (1.2.6), I don't seem to have that as one of the choices.
You may want to upgrade.

Re: Splitting and Time Shift
one of the two tracks which were split from stereo to mono having been thrown away) There are two options in the track panel drop-down menu: "Split Stereo Track" and "Split Stereo to Mono". You want the second option. For your current project, look at the track panel menu for your current tracks. T...

No, you didn't do anything wrong. The manual describes what is supposed to happen. All the details for implementing the linked tracks feature as described in the manual have not been ironed out yet. Oh, the joys of beta software!

Yes, my bad. And yes, Steve, I should have written CTRL + SHIFT + M if that's what I meant!kdoc wrote:assume you mean (since you typed a capital M) that Ctl, Shift M is what will do it.
