Re: Playthrough during recording: issues
Unfortunately there's nothing you can do about it with the standard Mac sound control, nor with Audacity. You have two options as I see it. 1) Buy an external mixer with headphones or amp and speakers. Listen to the output of the mixer instead of the output of the computer. Route playback through th...

It say's it's compatible MME, Soundmanager and DirectX, as well as ASIO.

Re: "Error opening file" problem not solved
But every time I produce a new file, even if I don't import but just record some noise through the microphone of my mac, audacity ads the artist name 'Zzz Radiochico' or the album title 'Reconciliation' or even the file name of the original file (04 Titel 04) followed by '. Is ...

Re: Audacity will not let me click Preferences without crash
Please be more specific. What computer? what OS? What VST effects are you trying to add? How many at once? Is this what you're trying to do? 1) Edit > Preferences go to Effects tab, check "Rescan for VST effects" 2) Exit Audacity 3) Start Audacity At this point, what exactly happens? What error mess...

Re: Exporting to wav, aiff, au for cdrecord
Using the 1.3.3-beta version of Audacity, I attempted to export my project as a [22050|41000]KHz, [16|32] bit, [wav|aiff|au] file. Stick to 44100 16-bit WAV. CD burning software usually requires 44100 16-bit, although some can convert on the fly. When I tried to create my audio disc using cdrecord,...

Re: Multiple Export
On both Linux and windows "First File Name" is greyed out if "include audio before the first label" is not selected. It's not very clear on the picture - can you confirm if it is greyed out (or not) on Macs. Yes, "First File Name" is greyed out if "include audio before the first label" is not selec...

Re: Multiple Export
Now we can see the problem. You have one label that spans the entire track. Delete that label. That label is causing Audacity to export the entire track as one file. Then put a point label (a label with just one handle) at the very start of the track. Export Multiple should then work as you expect. ...

Re: "Error opening file" problem not solved
Ahhhh. At some point you imported an MP3 file that had accented characters in it. Audacity doesn't know how to deal with those. You need to open the AUP file in TextEdit. You will see a block that looks something like this: <tags> <tag name="id3v2" value="1"/> <tag name="GENRE" value="Country"/> <ta...

Re: long vertical line
When you create a label track, it is linked to the audio tracks above it in the Audacity window. Not quite true (picky, picky, I know). It depends on the "Link Audio and Label Tracks" setting in the Tracks menu. In 1.3.9 this option is on by default, and Labels are stuck to the audio. Linking of la...
