Go to Preferences > Libraries. Check that you have installed the FFmpeg libraries. As I recall FFmpeg is needed to import WMA files.

Further testing indicates that it appears to cut out twice as much as what is selected. For example, selecting from 2:31.0 to 2:32.0 (1 sec) cuts out two seconds -- from 2:31.0 to 2:33.0. What method are you using to burn the CDs? If you are using the Finder (dragging files onto the CD then clicking the Burn button) you are creating a data CD. Drag and drop the AIF files into iTunes, create a playlist, then burn an audio CD from within iTunes.

Which version of Audacity are you using? This is a known bug (the "k" key is the shortcut for move cursor to end of track), but AFAIK it has not been seen in 1.3.9.

Do have a label track and is "Link Audio and Label Tracks" checked in the "Tracks" menu? If so, you have encountered a known bug. Either get rid of the label track or uncheck "Link Audio and Label Tracks".
