Didn't I just answer this question in the Mac 1.3.x forum???
Double-posting is not nice.

Re: please help!
First, go to System Preferences > Sound > Input and see if you can select the m-audio box. If you can, select it. Then try with your mic to see if you are getting levels into the Sound preference panel. Adjust the input volume control while watching the input level meter (blue bars). If that test pa...

Re: Cannot burn WAV music files to CD
Thanks for that info on titling or the lack thereof -- that's going to save me a lot of figuring out 'how to do it' time. As was pointed out as a possibility, at least on my Roxio 6 player the titles are indeed there. Some CD burning software supports "CD Text". This embeds artist, album and track ...

Re: speeding up and slowing down a wav
What's wrong with just recording the toy with dying batteries? Audacity 1.3.9 has an effect called "Sliding Time Scale/Pitch Shift". You might have to apply it several times to get the effect you want. As for the distortion, after you've got the speed slow-down the way you want it, you want to intro...

Re: Effects for Drama
How do I make them separate clips? You need Audacity 1.3.9. When you cut and paste into one track they should automatically show up as separate clips which you can drag independently of one another. Another option if you don't have or don't want 1.3.9 is to use Koz's suggestion of multiple tracks b...

Re: Can't hear mic through Behringer 1204...
i get shudders every time someone says that. Please don't blow into your mic to test it. Talk into it, shout into it, whisper into it, but don't blow into it. That's a very nice mic you've got there. Don't ruin it by blowing into it.braillehand wrote:When I blow into the mic ...

Re: OS X 10.4.11 crash
I just noticed that you're running Audacity from the Desktop. Are all the other folders that Audacity needs also on the Desktop, like "Languages", "Nyquist" and "plug-ins"? Never mind, Audacity runs just fine from the Desktop. Just no choice but "English" in the First Run dialog, and no Nyquist eff...

I usually run Audacity from a folder in Applications so I can keep all that stuff next to Audacity.

Re: Effects for Drama
Another option if you have 1.3.9 is this. Put all your effects on one track. Make each effect a separate clip. Now you can double-click on a clip to select it then click Play and just that clip will play. When it's done double-click on the next clip and hover the mouse pointer over the Play button (...
