Re: issues recording traktor 10 soundcard usb

What Mac do you have? Can you record from the built-in microphone?

Re: Can't open files

When you do File > Open, a dialog box opens where you can choose the file. At the bottom left is a button labelled "Options". Click that button to reveal the "File Type:" dropdown menu. Choose "All files" from that menu. Now you should be able to open audio files. Note that, as Koz points out, audio...

Re: Audacity not recognizing line in from RCA plugs into USB port

Have a look at this page on the wiki.

Is this one of those $40 cassette-to-USB devices? If it shows up as "PnP USB Audio Device" in System Sound Preferences you may have trouble getting it to work reliably.

Re: Problems recording internal audio with iShowU Audio Capture

Have a look at the instructions on this wiki page. Does that help?

You probably want to have 2 (stereo) recording channels.

Re: Static is cassette transfer

The audio level on your export is very low. After applying the Amplify effect I can hear some very low frequency "pulsing" with a period of about 0.1 second. I don't hear any crackling. In Audacity, go to the View menu and check "Show Clipping". That will indicate for sure if there is any clipping i...

Re: Possible bug? Audio out via headphones not working?

What model of Mac are you using? What is the difference between "built-in output" and "headphone output". Don't you just plug headphones into the jack and that over-rides the speakers?

Re: marking clips

Audacity has clips.

As Koz points out you can't Mark-in and Mark-out on the fly, but you can precisely mark in and out point (thus creating a clip) by listening, zooming in and identifying the points.

Re: Static is cassette transfer

From your description it seems you are saying that playback of the recording in Audacity sounds fine, but the MP3 exported from Audacity has "static"? Perhaps it is distortion. During playback do your playback meters indicate overload? Are you raising the gain of the track?

Re: Adding a track

Thanks for the clarification.

I can only say again: try it. Audacity should record on the new track - no need to worry about mapping inputs.

And again, overdubbing (which is what your are doing) requires some setup in Audacity. See my first post.

Re: Adding a track

Is the Lexicon Lambda one of these: https://lexiconpro.com/en/products/lambda ? I still don't understand your signal chain. You've got the Ensoniq plugged directly into the Lexicon. You say you sang along with the keyboard - does that mean you had a microphone plugged into the Lexicon, or into the A...
