I can't hear the click. Where is it?

Right-click on the Audacity application icon and select Get Info. In the Get Info window, check "Open in Low Resolution". Does that fix the problem?

No need to send examples. If you can get the files into Audacity with File > Open or File > Import then there is nothing wrong with the MP3s.

If you try to drag-drop a file into the Audacity window, if you try again does it go? I've had that happen now and then.

This is a known bug. You can drag-drop into the Audacity project window, but drag-drop onto the Audacity icon in the dock does not work. We're working on it.

Does the other person have the AUP files?

If not it is just about impossible to reconstruct the recordings.

Make your selection. Scroll to or zoom in near the end. Shift-click in the timeline (within the selection) where you want playback to begin. Playback will loop the selection.

This is a known bug. It's an interaction with macOS Catalina. We haven't yet figured out a fix.

I'm using Audacity 2.4.2 on macOS 10.15.7 with no problem.

Please try this. Create a new project. Go the the Generate menu and select Chirp. Accept the defaults. Play the project. Does it play OK?
