Re: No host or available devices on 1.3.14 alpha version
Yes, I used the default options. I think I will need to uninstall and reinstall to rerun make. Is there any way for me to save my preferences? (I spend about 15 minutes configuring Audacity after installing)

No host or available devices on 1.3.14 alpha version
I recently reinstalled my Ubuntu 10.10 installation due to mistakes made while attempting to build and run the SVN head version of Audacity. I have successfully gotten the 1.3.14 alpha version running. However, I can't do much with it as I cannot select any devices. If I go to Preferences > Devices,...

Re: Audacity 1.3.10 Not Recognizing lame.dll...
I actually got it to work by downloading v1.2.6, which accepts lame_enc.dll for some reason. I've already tried using that version of Lame anyway. Tried locating it from Preferences>Libraries and when I try to export mp3s.

Audacity 1.3.10 Not Recognizing lame.dll...
I just started anew on my desktop computer, which has Windows XP SP2. For some reason when I try to direct Audacity to the lame.dll file to encode mp3s, it says something like "Audacity could not open Mp3 encoding library". I'm using version 1.3.10, which works fine on my laptop. I've tried the lame...

Re: Odd problem with recording--different on different compu
Sorry if I failed to mention--I am recording the computer's inner audio, i.e. what is passing through the internal sound system, with no external connections. For instance, I could play the same song on my computer while recording it in Audacity, and on one computer it would come out looking nicer t...

Re: Stereo Mix not Showing up Under Recording Devices--Windo
Most of the help there only goes as far as showing disabled devices, then having Stereo Mix show up and be selectable, which doesn't work for me. I think I need different drivers. How do I check the manufacturer of my motherboard so I know where to look for better drivers?

Re: Stereo Mix not Showing up Under Recording Devices--Windo
I did check for updates via device manager and it says my sound drivers are up to date. (Of course, I don't really trust the device manager to keep drivers updated) Have others with Windows has this problem? (If it is an operating system problem)

Re: Stereo Mix not Showing up Under Recording Devices--Windo
This is my Recording Devices menu. There's nothing there.

It's strange because the proper devices showed up in Vista. Does Windows 7 remove this functionality?

Re: Stereo Mix not Showing up Under Recording Devices--Windo
That isn't helpful; it assumes the proper recording device is displayed in the control panel, which it isn't. (Which is the problem) I need to know how to get it to show up there in the first place to I can record from it.
