Re: Any Need To Install Latest Version
Thankfully I kept a copy of the precious install file. Sorry but I won't be able to help as to why it was slower and crashing, all I know is that it was causing me grief. On opening it was always looking for VST plugins or something, like I say am back with 1.3.12, hopefully someone with some time t...

Re: Any Need To Install Latest Version
Well that is what I did install as per your reply, but all I can say that it takes double the time to export an mp3 than it did for the 1.3.12 version, so I will be going back to the previous version as soon as possible. Regarding the installation I uninstalled 1.3.12 and installed 1.3.13 fresh. Oh ...

Some Questions Re Latest Beta 1.3.13
I just downloaded successfully the very latest 1.3.13 beta, and have also downloaded the Lame and FFmpeg files too. One little question I have is that everytime I open Audacity just prior to the program opening it appears to be searching for Beta plugins, so I assume it finds them as the program ope...

Any Need To Install Latest Version
I still use Windows 98 S.E, would there be any need to install the latest version of Audacity 1.3.13 Beta? Also I currently have the following Audacity versions on my computer, v1.2.6 and 1.3.12 beta, the latter being the one I use. What I would like to know is if I remove 1.3.12 beta and install 1....

Re: Music Display Colours
Of course it will not fix any damage caused during or prior to the audio being encoded in MP3 format. Thanks again, Yeah, the original disc source is as it is I suppose. It's like having an mp3 ripped from original disc at 112 kbps, some think by re-encoding the 112 to 320kbps it will make it a bet...

Re: Music Display Colours
It means that your recording level is too high. Audacity 1.2.x did not have this feature to show clipping, it is only available in Audacity 1.3.x It will probably sound like the loudest parts of the recording are distorted. A small amount of clipping distortion may not be very noticeable, particula...

Re: Music Display Colours
...if it is indicating that the sound level is going high in these places. Yes, it is indicating that the signal is oversaturated and is clipping - the red lines are the clipping indicators. WC Hi, thanks for that, can you tell me what that all means, and will it be noticeable when listening on the...

Music Display Colours
Often if I open an mp3 and look at the display I used to just see blue in the old Audacity, but I see red mixed with the blue and wondered if this was normal, and what it is indicating, if it is indicating that the sound level is going high in these places. If I open the same file with version 1.2.6...
