Re: Changing the tempo
A caution that Effect > Change Tempo and Effect > Change Pitch are the two effects most likely to cause sound damage. They have to take the sound apart, only change some characteristics, and then put everything back together when they're done. Thanks, Koz. I had added this additional post to my ori...

Re: Internal PortAudio error. No Devices Useable.
Although as feared the problem persists and my drivers are up to date as per listed version. I have checked like before under device manager to ensure the drivers I'm using are indeed the correct ones and they are. I don't believe it's a driver problem now. When audacity first starts up it scans al...

Re: Changing the tempo
So if I slow the piece down because I can't play to the original speed and record the new track at that slow speed will both tracks align when I play back the piece at normal speed? So, what you could do for example, is select the original track (which we will call the click track). Slow it down vi...

Re: EQ
For some reason, I could not find any equalizers in my Effects menu. I was able to correct the problem by going to Tools > Add/Remove Plug-ins (Why is it called Add/Remove Plug-Ins in the menu, but "Manage Plug-ins" in the title window?). Then I located "Filter Curve" and "Graphic Equalizer" and "En...

Re: Can't record - Host processes interfering
In Audacity, the Listen Speaker must be checked to be able to record. There is NO WAY around that. Ok, I am very very concerned about this setting. I believe it is at the heart of the problem you are having. Just what is it that you are trying to record? Audacity cannot record both sides of a conve...

Re: Loud hiss/feedback recording 2nd track
It fixed itself earlier! Recorded perfectly over lots of different backing tracks... Well, we know that we can get it to work. :D Tried it again now... the buzz is back! Now all we need to do is find out how... :? A couple of things... Do you always listen with your headphones and are they always p...

Re: Shift key pops up keyboard preferences
I am using a USB keyboard and USB mouse (both wired). No touch screen. I am editing ... ...and the Preferences window popped up. It does not always happen that quick but did this time. Another time I just placed the cursor at the end of a 40 minute segment I wanted to delete. Then pressed SHIFT and...
