Re: Noise on optical recording
Hi guys etc. I am a new user with Audacity. I have a similar query with regard to noise using USB link from my new TEAC USB record deck( belt driven) to IMAC ( High Sierra 10.13.6) Whilst the noise cannot be heard on the finished recording I am perplexed as why this is occurring. Let me explain, if...

Re: Noise on optical recording
Hy Bill, Thanks for your input. I tried it today and it sounds the exact same way. So it looks like that it's not really a problem in Audacity, but more in the hardware. Thanks anyway. So, since your Yamaha DCR-HD1500 recorder runs at 44.1kHz, make sure you have the same speed set in Audacity and o...

Nyquist Basics: Changing the Volume in SAL
So I don't know if the issue is me, Nyquist, or the manual/wiki, but in 2.4.2, when I copy this line: return scale(0.5, s) from the wiki here: Nyquist Basics: Changing the Volume in SAL into the Nyquist prompt, it doesn't seem to do anything. However, noticing (and checking) the box labelled "U...

Re: Trim silences
...trim all silences (or close to zero noise) parts of my track? I do voice overs and a lot of times pause talking to catch my breath or read the next line in my mind without pausing the recording and have to delete that manually in editing. I already use the extend silences feature, but it does not...

Re: Catalina microphone issue with Audacity
I am getting a list of these messages: ||PaMacCore (AUHAL)|| Failed to open AUHAL component.||PaMacCore (AUHAL)|| Error on line 1263: err='-50', msg=Unknown Error and still get no Audacity.app entry to grant microphon permission. I would like to suggest starting a new post for a new problem. Someti...

Re: Grabar Octapad SPD-30 en Audacity
Hi, I wanted to know how to record an Octapad SPD-30 with Audacity. If I need an interface to be able to record, if a USB cable is enough, either by MIDI ... I'm very lost on the subject. Thank you very much ;) Greetings! :( OK, as you know, the USB port on your Octapad will only converse using the...

Re: Guaranteed High Frequency Sound Card With IN and OUT
I'm betting we can do a much better job at this when we find out what the job is. Throwing out impossible specifications blind is only going to take you just so far. Koz Yes, and don't forget the transducers (mic and speakers). steve, what do you know about this animal? USB C to 3.5mm Headphone Ada...

Re: Guaranteed High Frequency Sound Card With IN and OUT
Hi, I am looking for a relatively low cost "sound card" (internal or external) that is guaranteed to BOTH record and play back high frequency signals to at least 160KHz. Any suggestions? Thank you :) Is this what you are looking for: https://www.amazon.com/32Bit-384KHz-Digital-Audio-Inter...
