Re: Audacity on my phone?
Is there an app for that? I am collecting bird sounds and am presently recording video but they take up too much space and eventually I have extract the audio from the video. I want "Just the audio, please" If not, can you offer suggestions on an app for me. If you are looking to extract ...

Re: mp3 sounds distorted after imported to audacity
I think I found a fix with MP3Gain ! <snip> P.S. MP3directCut can also normalize without decoding/decompressing. After selecting Normalize, check the box that says "Check For Overdrive", Congratulations! I couldn't get MP3Gain to install the first time, so I tried installing MP3DirectCut....

Re: mp3 sounds distorted after imported to audacity
FWIW, I thought I would take a look at this. I tried loading and playing test.mp3 in Audacity and in VLC. There is significant overmodulation in Audacity. When the Audio is loaded into Audacity (drag-and-drop), the Amplify effect uses -18.051 to bring it down to full scale - go figure! When I look c...

Re: Bug: recorded audio(especially voiceovers and vocals singing) is slightly off sync when reviewing the recorded sound
This is a bug that's severely bothering me and causing my vocals song covers to sound worse that they already sound. Back when I did vocals covers on my Windows 7 desktop computer and the Windows 7 legacy versions, I had no problems. But lately I've been having this issue. Just today(Nov. 7th, 2020...

Re: Humming on track for Podcast
I have attached 2 version of the recording I have been trying to add to or start again but the hum still occurs on the latest part of the recording Can you advise how this may be rectified? I took at your files and you have what seems to me an enormous amount of 60 cycle hum. I tried using a low-pa...

Re: picking up shrill sounds on its own while recording
I use USB mike to record on Audacity. Since yesterday while recording Audacity is picking a shrill sound on its own and recording it. In your microphone properties, make sure you have Listen To This Device turned off: Right -click on speaker icon in lower right-hand corner. Sounds > Recording > [yo...

Re: Microphone Issue
The last two times I have recorded my voice it not sounds like I am in a cave. A hollow sound and not clear like the last 6 months. How do you know this? It could be that your listening device is compromised somehow. Compare your current recordings with those when everything was working fine. If th...

Re: Best way to store mp3?
I am making available some spoken word audios on a website that were captured in mp3 from cassettes in the 80s and 90s. I need these mp3s to be available ad infinitum without further loss of quality. As mp3 is lossy, what is the best way to store them for longevity and use as masters for creating n...
