Re: Update Build Instructions for Windows, perhaps?
OK, it appears that Visual Studio 2019 version 16.9.0 is now supplying intrinsic implementations for the lrint and lrintf instructions. Since VS2019 wasn't before, Audacity was supplying it's own version. Microsoft considers this a "fix" for a previous omission. Unfortunately, this "f...

Re: Update Build Instructions for Windows, perhaps?
Odd. The instructions worked worked for my installation of Visual Studio 2019 version 16.3.8. Using the same instructions starting with a new Virtualbox Windows 10 installation with the latest Visual Studio 2019 version 16.9.0 did not work with 68 errors. I am a novice Visual Studio user. Re: Noise
But I can't figure out why the source playing on the Altecs is sounds so much better than the Audacity recording which sounds so much worse Audacity does not do any processing on the recording - it records what it gets from Windows. I wonder if Windows is giving you some kind of bass boost or autom...

Re: AUDACITY TAKING HOURS TO SAVE?
Sometimes it can even take 20 or 30 minutes for a 1 hour recording. Is this usual? I have experienced similar on different computers and versions, but I am currently on Windows 10 with Audacity 2.4.2. And it is happening again. Would anyone be able to tell me how long it should take for 8-10 hour r...

Re: Is there a plugin to morph a sound into another?
How is that? If you have two synchronized recordings of two different instruments, then crossfade should do the morphing, by gradually reducing the volume of the first and increasing the volume of the second resulting in a morph.DefNotKyerix wrote: ↑Wed Mar 03, 2021 4:45 pmI've tried the crossfade effect, but that only controls volume.

Add music... How?bluelagoon07093 wrote: ↑Wed Mar 03, 2021 7:24 pmNow, when I add the music track to the audio track, it does not go across the screen as the audio track does.
If you are recording, try Shift-Record.
I hope this helps.

Re: Zooming to center is not ideal
when zooming around a single point, centering is not ideal, IMO. It would be great if there were a setting, from 0% to 100% of the waveform display. 50% would correspond to the current (hard coded) behavior, and would be the deault. If I had this control preference, I'd probably set it to say 20%. ...
