If you hover over this scissor icon for about a second, text will appear showing you the function "Cut" as well as the keyboard shortcut "Ctrl-X".

If not, perhaps you could borrow a set of headphones or earbuds and check that the signal is getting to your Behringer....

I have tried messing with the knobs on SubZero. Turning GAIN 1 up and down, toggling INS 1 on and off, setting MONITOR to OFF, MONO, STEREO, toggling +48V phantom power, rotating the master volume and the headphone knob.
