Re: Unable to replace older file version

In exporting [WAV files] the new versions were not replacing the previous versions. Hi mikep. I don't know much about macOS, but perhaps someone with more experience will pitch in here. I didn't see anything like this in Google for Mojave 10.14.6. Something to try: Are you able to export successful...

Re: Audacity stopped recording after Win 10 update.

Audacity stopped recording after Win 10 update. Windows update is notorious for causing audio problems - just try searching forum posts for windows update. If you are still having problems, 1) Check that Windows has successfully completed all of the updates and that there are no brand new ones that...

It seems to work with some MP3s but others just not at all.
Hi, I don't know much about macOS, but here is a Catalina user with a very similar Drag-and-Drop problem affecting only "some" files:

Re: Reversing the Measurement of the Vertical Scale

Thank you steve, but that doesn't work for 'waveform (dB)'. Also, make sure you are using the most current version of Audacity 2.4.2. https://www.audacityteam.org/download/windows/ There were some recent changes adding dB half-wave view. Right-click in the Vertical Scale panel just to the right of ...

Yes. the only audio output hooked to the computer is the Tascam. And Audacity is set to use the Tascam as both input and output.
So...? Have you tried using another output device?

I can also play a track no problem through either my speakers, which are attached to an audio amp attached to the Tascam, or on headphones plugged into the Tascam.
Not that it makes any difference... Is your output device always running through the TASCAM ?

Re: looping without playing entire clip or file

It should somehow be possible to start a Loop Play from the current cursor position. The concrete use case is, as OP stated, when you have rather long clips you want to seamlessly loop, you place the cursor right before the seam and trigger a Loop Play. Hmm... If entire track is to be looped, I ima...

Re: Fade from right to left

its a mono track (same on L & R) and I thought of fading the right one out, at the same time as fading the left in, but Im not sure how to split the track to acheive it. Thanks OK, Look in the track control panel. If it says "Stereo", like this: https://manual.audacityteam.org/man/audio_tracks.html...

The yellow guidelines are useful, to be sure. I was thinking some shortcut for grabbing exactly the audio between two labels would be even more convenient, though.
Why not make a feature request out of this:
