Re: poor quality export

Thanks for replying Steve.
I suspect that this is what happened.
So what do I adjust to change this..... the little input volume slider (- <<<<<<< +)?
Roughly were should it be?
I guess there's no 'easy' way of removing this distortion? I like the recording, but can make another.

poor quality export

Hi, I copied a section of my voice. It sounded find when I played it in audacity, but when I exported it to mp3 it has a sort of crackly sound, but only in the voice, not in the empty spaces. It was as if part of the voice was distorted. Anyone have any idea what might be causing this? Thanks, .... ...

Re: hum removal

Thanks Koz,
I appreciate your doing this. It saves me a lot of trouble. (I'm sure that if you can't get rid of it, I sure as hell won't.) I'll try to find it somewhere else as you suggest.

Re: hum removal

Hi Koz, OK. I did as you instructed, and yes...... it significantly reduced the loudness of your recital. (I did not get the profile first from a blank area. When I did it that way... there was almost no reduction in the loudness.) Then I did the same thing on my wav file. Same result as with yours....

Re: hum removal

Hi Koz, I tried various settings up to 48 db and 1000hz. Didn't seem to make much difference. Other than a slight muffling of the voice, the hum seemed to stay the same. Is there a way of determining what freqency the hum is? ..... john PS. Hi Allen. Thanks for your suggestions. I'm going to see if ...

hum removal

Hi,
I have a hum on a short voice (wav file) recording, that I've had for years.
I don't know how it got there, but I would like to remove it.
Any suggestions are appreciated.

Re: extract audio from FLV

Hi Koz,
Thanks. I'll check those out.
What about video? I would also like to convert, or capture the stream from, FLVs so that most computers will play them.

extract audio from FLV

Hi, This doesn't really have anything to do with audacity, but I haven't been able to find the answer anywhere, so I beg your indulgence. I'm in the habit of extracting the audio (to mp3) form my browser's cache flv files. Lately this has not been working all the time (usually it seems with files ca...

Re: clicks

Hi Steve,
Well, I installed 1.3.5. and it does a nice job of repairing clicks.
