Re: Timer recording fails as does recovery
Hi Gale, Many thanks for the explanations. I've been preoccupied at work this past couple of weeks but am back now so will continue testing 1.3.13. I will download today's version of 1.3.13 and will regularly update it as you make changes. I think it now time to figure out how to do the debug testin...

Re: Timer recording fails as does recovery
Thanks for the reply, Gale, I am using 1.3.13. I deleted it and reinstalled it. No more dll searches. At any rate, I thought I had a work-around: simply starting straight into a timed recording without a count-down. That worked once. Today, I saved a new empty project, started it to record for x tim...

Re: Timer recording fails as does recovery
Hello, Gale, Sorry, if I have not been clear. Let me explain what I am doing. I record BBC Radio 3's the proms to listen to next day at work - which necessitates I start the timer count-down upwards of 4 hours in advance as I leave for work (I am in Canada at the moment hence the time delay). I set ...

Re: Timer recording fails as does recovery
Gale, I started the usual recording yesterday (about 4 hours count-down with 2.5 hours recording time) but with out saving the project first. When I returned to examine the project, it had progressed to about 5 hours without the timer began to freeze on the 5th second. I killed the process using Tas...

Re: Timer recording fails as does recovery
Gale, Edgar, many thanks for the replies and help. I've installed the nightly build for 25th July. Same problem. I start the timer - set with a 1 hour delay and a 4 hour recording time. It started recording but on the 5th second, it froze. Very strange. It does not appear to matter whether the recor...

Re: Timer recording fails as does recovery
Many thanks for the kind reply. I am not a programmer or engineer, so sorry for the stupid questions. But the project was saved. Would it then be better not to save and to have the recovery routine intervene? As for the orphaned block files, how do they become orphaned in the first place if the reco...

Timer recording fails as does recovery
Hello all, The timer in version 1.3.12 beta does not appear to work. Five or so seconds after it starts the recording session, the timer halts counting but recording continues. The timer cannot therefore stop the recording as it does not advance. Clicking on 'cancel' or 'stop' or 'X' does not work. ...

Re: Crash recovery failure 1.3.8
Thanks, Steve, I've been successful, so far, at recording upwards of 5 hours without complaint. I then export the lot to WAV in 1.5 hour segments (anything less than 4GB files) and all goes really well. I wish only that I were proficient with my SuSE 11.0 Linux system but so far I have not been able...

Crash recovery failure 1.3.8
Hello, Audacity crashes at about 13 hours 20 minutes or so of recording (it went this long by accident). The project is initially saved before recording begins. The project rate is set to 9600 hz. All other settings are at default. The first time this happened I restarted Audacity, it recovered the ...

Re: Play time of exported WAV file truncated
Have a look at this Wiki article: http://audacityteam.org/wiki/index.php?title=Splitting_recordings_into_separate_tracks Personally I think I'd break it up into a set of one hour chunks - should make navigation a bit easier. WC Hello, WCyl, Thank you for the tip. I've reviewed the article, made a t...
