How to expand a file for editing
I am a newbie to Audacity and I noticed when I import a file (wav or mp3) it is compressed in the editing area compared to when I was recording it. Is there a key combination the will expand the complete file?
Many thanks

Is the a way to jump to a lag?
If I set a flag (Ctrl-B), is there a way to jump to it like in placing a marker in a document?
Many thanks,
Todd

Sound Max card output
If I am recording "streaming audio" using my relatively basic Sound Max audio card, is the input into Audacity digital or analog?

Re: Adding to a track
THANKS! I'll give it a try...
An aside question: I assume that the "input" into Audacity from my Sound Max card is analog. In other words, the digital was converted into analog from the streaming digital.
Thanks again...

Adding to a track
If I am recording and stop the process to edit the track, is there a way to have it so when I start recording again, it will be appended to the first recording?
Currently, I have used copy and paste to add the second recording to the first.
Thank you....

WAV file size vs. recording time
I am a newbie, so there may be something obvious that I overlooked.
I have a track that is 41 minutes in length , yet when I export it as WAV, the file size exceeds the capacity of a CD (867 MB).
The format is 41,100 Hz with 32 bit float.
Am I missing something?
Many thanks....
