Re: Start Again...

Hey hey thanks for that. A great help. I will certaionly read through the documentation. One thing though - I label and export the multiple, as you suggest. Audacity confirms for instance that 5 tracks have been exported, but there are only 4 tracks in the specified location. That is, track 1 is mis...

Start Again...

OK because of USB noise issue I am going to record all of my LPs again using the RCA or analogue or whatever its called. Seems a clean way. Tell me though.. whats the best way to split tracks into something that iTunes will recognise as tracks. When you save a wave file from Audacity, it condenses i...

Re: ENORMOUS NOISE PROBLEM

Hmmm yeah well I have a feeling its not a one-off. I just picked this album, at random out of the middle of a 200 + list of digital recordings. The odds on it being a one off are pretty remote. I am away from home this week so cant start checking back until I get home next week :(

ENORMOUS NOISE PROBLEM

I have an absolute ENORMOUS noise problem that I cannot explain. I receorded a whole album through a USB turntable into Audacity with the intentions of cutting it into tracks for burning to CD through iTunes. However I didnt get that far. I played a little of the album which apart from the usual cli...

Re: Audacity Native or Wave Files for post work?

Nice one WC.... seemed the way to go to me to.. thanks again Steve Steve, If all you are doing is transcribing/cleaning vinyl recordings then you will only have a single stereo track - so then definitely WAV is the better route for archiving the project for backup/later re-working. WAV is much more ...

Audacity Native or Wave Files for post work?

Hey Guys What do people think is best. To record and export to wave files for work later. Or save native audacity files so they can be worked on later? I will just be removing noise and clicks from vinyl recordings.. nothing big. I just want to get the recording process done so I can take the files ...

Re: Audacity on Intel Macs

Sally, hi.... I just starting using my USBITT10 with Numark Groovetool RS stylus's. I'm pretty impressed must be said. And getting the songs to HD from vinyl is proving to be a breeze. Much easier than I thought. I was more concerned with how long a stylus would last. I have 5.. and am digitising ar...

Re: Newbie advice...?

Yeah WC I think iTunes does weird things to music when you import it. Possibly thats what Koz is referring to. To be honest, I just wanna .wave everything and as long as I can make CDs for the car and home and then put some on an iPod, that'll do for me. Not really going to get into the intricasies....
