Audacity Crashes when I hit Record button
First, let me say that I have had no problems with Audacity and the few questions I've had were answered promptly and I appreciate the help. Today when I went to overdub a track, everytime I hit the record button Audacity would open the new track and then immediately crash. The files seem to be stil...

Adusting the Track Tempo
I seem to remember being able to change the overall tempo of a track in Audacity 1.2 but I can't seem to recall how to do this. I'm just talking about a subtle adjustment, nothing very radical and I only want to use it as a possible comparison/alternative to the current track tempo. Any advice would ...

Optimum Dither settings
I looked at several posts in the forum but still don't have an idea of what the optimum settings are for dither. The default appears to be: Real-time=0 and High Quality=triangle but I can't judge what would work best for a particular project without knowing what effect None,Rectangle and the other s...

Re: Making a Composite Track in Audacity 1.2
Koz, Thanks for your reply. Can the envelope that you are suggesting be used over a long stretch, like a minute or two of the song or does it only function in Muting smaller sections. The situation I am looking to fix involves two guitar tracks where the front part of one track is better and the seco...

Making a Composite Track in Audacity 1.2
I would like to combine two tracks into one using the mute button to turn them on & off at certain points. I assume this should be done prior to exporting but I'm not sure if the mute buttons can function in this manner. If not, would the best course of action be to duplicate part of one track and t...

Thanks again,Koz. I'll keep working on the problem. It is a really cool application and I'm sure I can figure out how to use it properly.

Re: Audacity won't remain on desktop after use
Thanks,Koz. I did create a new folder for Audacity, along with LameLib but only wound up with the Audacity alias in the folder, not the application. I may not have put it in the correct application folder( I have several-for OS9,OSX and another just called Applications where some appls seem to go auto...

Audacity won't remain on desktop after use
I am new to using Audacity but I have not seen this topic addressed,if indeed anyone else is having the same situation. I can download and use Audacity on my G4 (running OS 10.3.9) but after I am done,it will not remain on the desktop. It disappears or wants to be ejected. I have tried leaving it on...
