I'm recording voice only, no music, no effects, no nothing. If I place the cursor at the point of an error during playback and hit record, a new track opens up and I can record a correction. It's the new track that speeds up.

Hi Gale Both recordings were done on the same Audacity project. Basically what I did was........I recorded track one and needed to correct a portion of that track and so at the point of the error I hit record which began a new track. Playing that new track caused what we both heard as the speed erro...

Well, it was a good thought. I have 183ghz of a 225ghz hard drive available. I defragged and then closed all but essential processes, recorded and there is still a sampling problem. And by the way the recipe was Irish Soda Bread, not Audacity.......the name is Hennessy, lol.

Nope, that just makes the selected track fill the entire desktop window. I just want the track to be about 1/3 larger than the standard track.
