Thing I figured it out. I imported both tracks then went to "Analyze -> Normalize". Next I changed the snap-to interval to seconds. This made it easy to select 5 seconds of alternate tracks to silence!

I often want to know which vinyl pressing of the SAME song sounds best. Can I import the two sound files into Audacity, level match them and then alternate playing them every five seconds?
