Re: Making labels & tracks work with CDs
:D Glad to hear you've got everything going. Thanks for the update. And Merry Christmas. :D Thanks to you and to all that helped with advice. And especially to the excellent documentation for Audacity. I succeeded in burning my first CD from an LP and it went amazingly, exceeding my expectations. T...

Re: Making labels & tracks work with CDs
IMO - The best solution is to use a Cue Sheet . With a cue sheet there's no need to split the files, or if you have separate files from both sides of an LP or tape, that will work too. One big file is great if you have a "live" recording and you don't want gaps between songs. I think I blended/cros...

Re: Making labels & tracks work with CDs
Is just creating a label sufficient to tell a CD player that this is a track with that number, or am I missing an additional step? Anything else I should be doing before I finalize and go to burn CD? When you are happy with your recording, Export Multiple should do it. Be sure to export as .WAV fil...

Making labels & tracks work with CDs
I've been learning to make my first recording of an LP into a project and hopefully into a CD. I've been creating labels for each track, numbering sequentially as 001, 002, etc. I want to make sure to get this right before I burn a CD. Is just creating a label sufficient to tell a CD player that thi...

Re: How to join new recording to existing project?
You can record or import multiple tracks into Audacity. To record to the end of a track, just click on the track to select it, then press the Record button. To record to a new track, press "Shift + Record button". You can adjust the position of audio clips by dragging left / right with the Time Shi...

Re: How to join new recording to existing project?
I've successfully made a test WAV and MP3 of the first 2 tracks of an LP. I was able to use Labels to label each track, and to edit the file to get it like I wanted. Now I would like to record the remaining tracks and then join this test recording to them at the beginning (since they're the first 2 ...

Re: How to mute monitoring of live audio during rec playback?
the live feed continued even with the Microsoft Sound Wrapper or FrontMic selected. Finally I had to shut off the FM tuner/amp I was recording from. That stopped the live audio so I could listen to the playback without the live feed drowning it out. Lyndon, also try this: Right-click on the speaker...

Re: How to adjust input & output levels during recording?
First, thanks very much for a really illuminating and clarifying response. Clears up a lot! You should be able to adjust the volume with analog line-in. I presume this means adjusting with the Win "Speakers" control on the Win taskbar and not the volume control on the tuner/amp that controls output....
