Thank you for responding. Yes, I can hear the record player while I am recording and the sound is normal.

Problem with volume
I'm using Audacity 2.4.2 to digitize LP albums onto a MacBook Air with MacOS 10.15.6 Catalina. Everything is working fine except that the first track on every album has a problem with the volume. It is very difficult to hear the first track. Yet, when I go to any succeeding track, the volume is fine...
