Re: Clicks not showing up on waveform
I actually need to correct what I said. I take everything back. The phone on airplane mode didnt fix anything. The problem the entire time was that my gain was set too high. The computer couldn't handle the usb mics and the audio interface couldn't handle the xlr mic with the high gain I had, which ...

Re: Clicks not showing up on waveform
Or it's possible that the recording I sent you was a mechanical click from that first cheap mic I was using and there were interference clicks as well in that recording (there were clicks at least every couple of minutes). And then it was just interference clicks on the next two mics I was using. Ei...

Re: Clicks not showing up on waveform
The high end xlr mic did the same thing. As did my mid level USB mic and cheap mic. The only common thread in each setup I had was reading from the phone. Anyway, I'm just trying to help anyone else out with this problem. This is 100% what it was. Nothing mechanical about it, no matter how it may so...

Re: Clicks not showing up on waveform
To whoever said the clicks are mechanical, I'm not sure what to tell you. After thinking back to all of the times the clicks weren't there it was every time that I was just testing a new mic out and wasn't reading off of my phone. Then I would think the new mic solved the issue because there were no...

Re: Clicks not showing up on waveform
So, good news. After a month, 3 high end microphones, 2 different PCs, multiple DAWs, an iPhone and messing around with the buffer settings for a week, I finally figured out what the problem was - my cell phone. I was reading my book from my cell phone which was always placed right by the microphone...

Re: Clicks not showing up on waveform
So you're saying the mic is creating the clicks? Why is it only happening in some chapters?

Re: Clicks not showing up on waveform
I was actually just waiting to publish the ebook until I had recorded all of the chapters...in case there were any changes I wanted to make after reading it one more time. But there weren't, and this convo has spurred me onto publishing it, which I'm doing right now. Plus, it looks like I might have...

Re: Clicks not showing up on waveform
Oh man. How do they even know the clicks are there? They listen to the whole book? Would those little clicks be considered a distraction? There's not even a name brand on the microphone. It's just a cheap thing from China for $35. Just says professional studio condenser microphone. I have a Dell lap...

Re: Clicks not showing up on waveform
And yes the clicks happen in the same place no matter what playback device I'm using. It's not just this one cheater, there are random clicks like this in different chapters that arent mouth clicks. So I guess the real question is, does ACX reject files for clicks like this? Do listeners go crazy an...

Re: Clicks not showing up on waveform
There are 3 consecutive clicks that start right at the 1 second mark of that clip. They're not mouth clicks and there is no parts missing from the wave file, it looks smooth and good. I tried looking in the spectrograph but nothing was on that either. I thought I read something about the computer ge...
