Saving mp3 file without re-encoding
When editing mp3 audio, I just need to trim mp3 and save it without re-encoding(it already have 128kbps bitrate suitable for my needs). I didn't find option allowing to save file without re-encoding it.

Lame installer
what is sence of use Lame installer which installing lame_enc.dll into separate folder C:Program FilesLame for Audacity, instead of placing lame_enc.dll into Audacity installation folder (C:Program FilesAudacity 1.3 Beta (Unicode), or in the Plug-Ins folder inside that) and which was in Audacity 1.2...

1.3 Beta installation
I just used Audacity 1.2.6, then installed 1.3 Beta. The installation has not replaced the old version, but was installed in own directory. Why? This takes additional space, etc. I read somewhere that new installation should be installed over the old installation.

Re: Equalizer curve advice
the best way is to test ringtones on phone, it's the only way to test real sound. I made two the same ringtone samples, one compressed with regular Compressor, another with Chris compressor, but I didn't notice a sound quality difference when ringtone play on phone. It would be good, if Audacity dev...

Re: Equalizer curve advice
I had no problems to instal Compress dynamics, all works. Subjectively, audio compressed by this plugin(with default settings) gives louder sound than compressed with standard Compressor. But i tested mp3 clips on PC speakers, not on phone yet.

Re: Equalizer curve advice
the issues was that some ringtones sounds hoarsely and distorted: mostly those audio which have many basses and a wide dynamic range. Sure I know that cell phone speakers cannot reproduce very low frequencies, so it's better not to use source which contains many basses. I experiment with different w...
