Do you know which Ubuntu versions they are based on?

Linux Mint 19 and 19.3 are based on Ubuntu 18.04. Linux Mint 18.3 is based on Ubuntu 16.04.

Yes, that's correct. Audacity worked perfectly on Mint xfce 18.3.

I read Danzi's posts then

deleted the PPAs, and manually deleted the folder .audacity-data,
completely removed the PPA version of audacity and audacity-data, replacing them with the repository versions.

But still the same issue.
