Audacity Forum

I am an experienced Audacity user. Recently downloaded 2.6.1 Audacity to a Toshba X305-Q706, Vista Premium, lots of speed and memory. When I open a new project, then try to amplify a small portion of the file, the Audacity application immediately closes down. Any suggestions/solutions? Marvin cocore...
