I'm trying to record cassettes.
It's audacity 2.3.2, which I just purchased from Amazon.
My Mac is running 10.14.5

Every time I follow the instructions, all I hear is loud feedback.

I tried to follow the last recommendation and follow the dictates of the manual.

Unfortunately, every time I try to get started I see: "Error opening recording device. Error code: -9997 invalid sample rate"

I really want to be able to use Audacity. Please tell me how to get over this hump.

I just bought an Audacity cassette transfer machine. I tried following the instructions, but every time I go to record, I get the following post:

"Error opening. Recording Device Error Code -9997. Invalid sample rate.

Can someone please explain what that means and how to get past it?

I tried to follow the instructions, but when I went to transfer a cassette to my mac (10.4.1), I couldn't hear anything except on the headphones.
And then when I played back, I just heard feedback and myself walking around the room and cursing. How do I get this thing up and working?
