After following the instructions under "Exporting to an External Program" I get an error message "Cannot export audio to..."

I'm probably entering the wrong thing into the command line--I looked up several explanations of this, but gotta say I didn't really understand any of them.

I am trying to run a short macro on a batch of MP3s (steps: Amplify, Compress Dynamics, Export as MP3) . The process keeps getting hung up on certain files. When I try to open an individual problem file and run the macro on just that file it won't run. I also can't run the standard "Fade Ends" macro...

Every time I try to close a file I get a warning popup "Save project before closing?" This may not be a problem if I'm only closing one file, but when I have many files to close it's a real pain.
