Re: Edit Labels somewhat broken in 2.1.1?

Thanks to all involved. Not only has the bug been found but has been corrected in RC2 of 2.1.2. A quick skim of the Manual indicates that it also reflects correct behaviour.

Re: Edit Labels somewhat broken in 2.1.1?

Thanks Steve. It was formerly possible to use the label editor to select audio associated with a particular label. I only discovered yesterday that it no longer does that, so not sure just when it changed. It was a really nice feature and, as far as it goes, still is.

Edit Labels somewhat broken in 2.1.1?

As a screen reader user, I love the Edit Labels facility. I have just discovered on three different machines running Windows 7, Windows 8.1 and Windows 10 an issue. I can still edit label names and positions and those values are retained. However, pressing Enter on a specific label does not put focu...

Re: Audible peak level meter for Audacity

Thanks Gale. On reading your reply I checked out a nightly build and was delighted with the "minimal accessibility support" on the meters. That makes my exercise pretty much redundant. No, mine isn't a VST plugin but an external script. Regarding default position etc for the meter, I meant that the ...

Audible peak level meter for Audacity

A couple of months ago I heard about an audible peak level meter for use by blind users of DAWs (see http://depic.eecs.qmul.ac.uk/apmfeedback). It is a VST plugin. I tried it and it does work with Audacity but not in a manner that is effective because it relies on a track being routed to a separate ...

Webinar on Audacity for screen reader users and others

EASI (Equal Access to Software and Information) is a not for profit organisation. I have benefited from many of their webinars and am about to make the move from participant to presenter. Having enjoyed Audacity for some years, I am scheduled to present a webinar on Audacity. Emphasis will be on scr...

Re: How to use transport toolbar (advance/return) ?

I found this thread by searching for "scrubbing" and apologise if this isn't the most suitable place to make a humble request for including scrubbing. Especially (but not exclusively because) as a blind user, scrubbing is an extremely valuable feature. Ideally scrub speed could be varied from very s...

Re: Gain versus Amplify

Thanks very much. Yes, I was thinking of the gain control in the track panel.

Gain versus Amplify

Not being terribly bright, I have never understood the difference between Gain and Amplify. I always use Amplify to adjust levels, partly to ensure levels don't exceed 0 and partly because portions of a track can be adjusted. When would it be relevant to use Gain instead?
Thanks
