Re: Audacity Freezing on Playback
Okay, that makes a lot of sense. I haven't touched Alsa on this laptop other than to install the packages, so unless Arch has tweaks... I also have alsa-oss installed to get pianobar (pandora commandline player) working right. I think the only audio file I've tweaked was /etc/libao.conf (if my piano...

Re: Audacity Freezing on Playback
So, here's the info from the one from the official repository. It does the same freezing thing as the git one I tried earlier. At this point I'm just crazy curious about what it is, since it works perfectly in wine, so I've been editing that way. Audacity 2.3.1 Build Information Program build date: ...

Re: Audacity Freezing on Playback
I don't use Pulse because when I tried it (albeit, years ago) it had a bit too much overhead and I'm quite used to ALSA at this point. I'm kinda stuck in my curmudgeonly old linux ways. I tend to run linux on systems that are a little less than powerful ;) so every little bit of memory and processin...

Re: Audacity Freezing on Playback
As far as I know I don't have any extra plugins installed other than Acx-check. I don't have the blop package installed. I glanced through my plugins list and didn't see anything that really stood out. I can also get that error and it not freeze. That's what is killing me. There's nothing consistent...

Re: Audacity Freezing on Playback
Here's the last bit of the terminal warnings. That toplevel window one is one I see all the time with it even when it is working fine for minutes before it freezes. 19:38:03: Debug: ClientToScreen cannot work when toplevel window is not shown 19:38:03: Debug: Unrecognized accel key 'backspace', acce...

Re: Audacity Freezing on Playback
Unfortunately, it still froze after a few minutes of editing when I hit the spacebar to play a section.

Re: Audacity Freezing on Playback
Just a bit more info. So I've tried using audacity-git from the AUR, as well as the release that is on the regular Arch stuff. I've gone from the LTS kernel to the standard one. All of them freeze. So, out of frustration, I installed Audacity using wine...and it's working using wine. It's actually m...

Audacity Freezing on Playback
Hi, I've been using Audacity for a few years for recording audiobooks. I usually use Windows for editing just because it's my more powerful machine. I have a fanless linux box for recording (I've never tried playback other than for a few seconds and never used it for editing). I'm currently attempti...
