Re: How to select proper Input source (v.1.3.7)?
Actually, my Windows machine worked better with Audacity than this Mac so far... (sigh). Is there a better stable version I should be using? I was able to record easier with the 1.2.x version - with the stable version, I was able to select the audio mixer properly. Strange that you say that it's alw...

Re: How to select proper Input source (v.1.3.7)?
Wanted to try freeware at first (WireTap is $70, and I don't need to use Audacity more than a few times a month tops) so I downloaded SoundFlower. I was able to get Audacity to record by selecting "SoundFlower - 2Ch" as the "Built-In Output". What's weird is that I don't even have a source drop-down...

Re: How to select proper Input source (v.1.3.7)?
I'll check out WireTap, thanks! I don't need scheduled recording, just a way to manually do it on-demand.
So, is WireTap all I need, or will WireTap allow AUDACITY to record its own output? Maybe it will all be self-evident when I look at the WireTap dox.
Thanks again!!!

Re: Can't encode to MP3 via LAME
Well, I saw the .CFG file, and trashed it AND the entire "Audacity" folder in Applications folder. After I re-launched Audacity, the folder and the .CFG file were re-created, so that indicates to me that I was deleting the right folder. Where ELSE would it be? I'm at a loss. When I record, it DOES r...

Re: Can't encode to MP3 via LAME
I trashed the entire Audacity folder in Users -> Username -> Application Support, but I still did not get prompted for English when I restarted Audacity. I tried searching the entire Mac HDD for "audacity.cfg" but got no other matches. Hmmmmm... I HAVE NO other sound sources listed other than "Inter...

How to select proper Input source (v.1.3.7)?
SYSTEM: Running Audacity 1.3.7 on a Mac Air (running OSX 10.5.6 on an Intel Core 2 Duo chipset). PROBLEM: The only input source in my drop-down box is "Internal Microphone". I can record sound, but it sounds tinny and Audicy picks up background noise, since it's not capturing audio right from the so...

Re: Can't encode to MP3 via LAME
OK, so I installed the 1.3.7 version, but now my only Input Source in the drop down is listed as "Internal Micrphone". Is this right?? Haven't even tried encoding yet, as I haven't yet captured my audio source. ;) EDIT: Nope that's wrong - I can convert to MP3 now using libmp3lame.dylib (thank you),...

Can't encode to MP3 via LAME
Running Audacity on a Mac Air (OSX)... Downloaded the LAME encoder and installed the "libmp3lame.dylib" file to "Desktop -> LAME Encoder", then directed Audacity to this file (had to switch awat from "LameLib" to "*all files" to get OSX to use the file. I get a warning "Audacity was expecting to fin...
