we just record songs by using each individual track for each individual instrument..one at a time. we dont record 2 things at once....only 1 "thing" at a time( this is all for home use and fun between us at home.....not a show, persay) when i first installed Audacity on the old comp a lo-ong time ag...

? i dont know if i understand what you are asking. but we all do the same thing,... we just pick a channel on the mixer to plug into, hook up thru the mixing board via "line in" on the soundcard(creative X-Fi)...and just record.
