Re: Click Track
Any tips? I find it handy to give myself 2-4 bars of the click track before i start recording guitar. The bar before i start playing i whack a muted string (or all six) in time with the click track. that way it produces 4 distinct peaks (if its a 4/4 song) that can later be alligned to the click tra...

Re: Guitar recording a semi-tone higher - Please help!
i know this is a fairly old post but i thought that audacity had a pitch changer in it so even if your sound card changed the pitch you should be able to fix it. i think its in effects (its been a while since i used it and it was only once) and you can tell audacity to change the track from the orig...

Re: burning .wav files
Koz sure do, even though windows said it wouldnt burn it, it still did/does. So long as ive recorded to a CD-R and not a CD-RW then i can play the cd anywhere i like. Like i said, so long as there is a time next to each track/song (if there isnt then playing the track should bring up the time) it se...

alligning tracks
Hi, 1) is it possible to only move a section of a track. i.e. if a guitar track starts in time but because of the latency of audacity it begins falling slightly behind the beat, can i move the part of the track forward without affecting the start of the song? 2) when alligning tracks, is it possible...

Re: Fading Out Volume Gradually to 40%
Hi scott, I think you need to use the envelope tool which is located pretty much below the edit menu. Heres a cut and paste from one of the tutorials Envelope button (the inverted triangles with the horizontal blue line between them, located in the top left toolbar) to differentiate the gain in vari...

Re: burning .wav files
I also got this message with the wav file so i played it like it said but it still had a cross next to it indicating that there was still an error. it was only one song so I hit the "burn to CD button" anyway and it worked and burned perfectly. the next time i did it i got the same message, this tim...

Re: burning to C D
What format did you save the songs as? What program are you trying to burn it with? I have only burned to a cd using the windows media player with WAV files and have never had a problem. If your doing this then i would suggest something is funny with your computer. If youve not saved the files as WA...

Re: recording multiple tracks
Alatham, I think your right, I am using an ok computer (just bought from a computer shop A&R) which has minimal other programs on it and has a bout 50 GB of free space still (& i defraged about 1 week ago). I am only using the inbuilt sound card though. I will try to minimise the window and see how ...

Re: Lots of audio pops when recording from mixer
HI, I read yesterday in the trouble shouting guide for audacity that if you are are getting very consistent popping (every 6 secs) then the sound card may be picking up noises from the hard drive or something like that. hang on i'll find the link.................. Periodic noise every 6 - 12 seconds...

Re: No sound when recording
Trevor im no expert but maybe you have the audio I/O muted on your computer. ie click on the speaker icon on your computer that is on the bottom right near the clock in windows. look for I/O and make sure the mute button isnt ticked. Or it may be that you have plucked something in the wrong hole, ma...
