Re: low recording level...
takes up the whole track... vertically, that is... Use the normalise function in the effects menu on your quiet tracks, this should increase your waveform so that it maxes at -3db (it doesnt have to take up the whole track vertically). After that if you want it a little louder use the gain slider o...

Re: Amplifying
usually if you only get a flat line after recording then you didnt actually record anything. as a general rule you should see the waveform of what you recorded, that is unless you recorded it so quiet that the waveform is too small to see. In this case try using the normalise function instead of amp...

Re: MP3 Export Distorted
I exported my file as a .wav from Audacity then used lamedrop to convert to .mp3 and it can out perfect. I have a feeling that it depends on the file type you are working on, in my experience, if i import an mp3 into audacity and do some editing and then export it again as an mp3 then it will come ...

Re: Final Mix of Recording
If it sounds just the way you want it to then all you probably need to do is export your file as an mp3 or as a wav if you want. then post it on the web or burn it as a cd. It only takes a couple of clicks, audacity has made it pretty easy and there are tutorials to help. If the sound is not as you ...

Re: Recording with a Karaoke Track (Problem)
Use the time shift tool which is located at the topleft of the screen and looks like an arrow pointing both ways. providing your vocal track is on a separate track to the karaoke track you should be able to move you vocal track left or right until it is in time. When you do this it helps to zoom in ...

Re: Converting tracks to a email
just an added bit of info.
If you really want to send the file as a wav. or something big then use sites such as http://www.sendspace.com. This is free and allows you to send your large files here then the other person can retreieve them and it doesnt block up their email
