Re: Guitar Recording Problems
When you say it has a chipmunk sound do you mean that the your track is playing back too fast thus sounding like chipmunk (ususally what people mean when they say chipmunk)? if so this is usually a sample rate problem and you may have changed a setting by accident. make sure that your sample rate ar...

Re: recording disabled?????
You cant record over an existing track (unless the newer versions can). There is no need to. you just record onto a different track and mix the two together. once youve got the mix right you can export it as a wav. or mp3 file and this will turn it into a single file. if for whatever reason you want...

Re: Determining if recording is stereo

Re: Clicking Noise
hi there, could be hard drive noise Audacity writes to disk roughly every 6 or 12 seconds, depending on your settings. If you hear a funny noise in the background that's relatively consistent every 6 - 12 seconds, it means that your soundcard is picking up the noise from your hard drive. See Improvi...

Re: How To Record a Storybook on CD?
Hi, Do you mean you want to make the storybook (ie you will read the story and record it in audacity). You will not need any other software apart from your pc and audacity to do this. All you need to do is talk into the mic, record it, then export your tracks as wav files (or mp3) then burn these fi...

The sizes are all fine, guitar lead goes in one end & the other end plugs into my mic socket Im pretty sure you should be plugging into the "line in" not the mic in socket if your laptop has one (i know nothing of laptops). Can you test your setup elswhere? say plug your guitar into an amp using yo...

Re: Recording through sound card. Won't work.
What are you trying to record and how. I am confused because you say you cant record but then you say it records through my Mic and thus gets my voice and every other noise around me. If you are recording your voice through a microphone then it will pick up other room noises. thats what mics do. You...
