How can I fix the pop sound that comes about if I paste something or cut stuff out in between? What is this sound called (a pop?). Was wondering if there was an audacity fix besides re-recording.
audacity 2.1.3

Editing with headphones for voice over
Do most y'all edit with your recording headphones? One of Koz's previous suggestions is to not edit with the volume on really high. I feel the same way with my recording headphones (Senal), which I can hear everything. If I use Bose headphones, I don't hear half as much detail and I wonder what is a...

Re: Audio fading in every sentence
Thanks Koz. No skype, no games, really nothing open except browser or some doc to read the script. Don't see any audio effects...

Audio fading in every sentence
I recorded a voice file as usual but every sentence, the audio was fading in. I went to copy a sample (pasted into a new file) to post on the forum, but the new file was no longer fading in at the beginning of every sentence/post-silence(!!). Has anyone ever experienced this before?? Saved myself a ...

Re: Which mic better
Thanks Steve and Koz, for thoughtful feedback.
Koz, I won't be switching mics in the middle of a book but I plan to travel with the AudioTechnica to do short projects that come up.

Re: Which mic better
Koz, thank you for taking the time to reply. I felt I needed to boost the bass on B. Right now, based on other posts, the steps I take for ACX Check are Equalize Roll Off, Normalize (to 0), Limiter (to -3), Check Contrast then Amplify as necessary, Normalize to -3 (if necessary). Noise Reduction at ...

Which mic better
I purchased a new mic in the hopes of getting a better noise floor. The store rep believed the new mic was an upgrade from my current mic. I am attaching two raw wav files to see if either mic actually has a better noise floor, and which one may be easier to edit in Audacity. I will not label or dis...

Re: High noise floor, hiss, high beep sound
Koz, thanks for the tips and your time. Following your steps, I did not get any high beeping sound. However, I feel the noise floor is still a little loud. I wonder if Noise Reduction is the answer, though I am weary of distortion so will probably need to tinker to get the right setting. I do not kn...

Re: High noise floor, hiss, high beep sound
Trebor, your Nyquist filter removed high beep on my edited clip. Thanks for sharing.
Koz, am attaching a raw .wav.
Re: changing the input level to get a bigger difference between the noise floor and speaking volume. Does anyone have any experience with this?
Thanks everyone for your help.

Re: High noise floor, hiss, high beep sound
Koz, thanks for your reply. The clip is not raw. I did Equalize, Normalize, Limiter, Amplify, and Normalize to meet ACX standards. I export my audacity files to mp3 only after editing final. My mic is Audio Technica AT2020. I thought about Deyan's feedback, adjusting the input gain. My current input...
