Re: Reduce voice not eliminate

Steve, my brain exploded when I looked at the image you attached. haha. I tried to get it running on Linux, but failed to do so. What distribution did you use? I tried to get it running on Ubuntu MATE 17.04 and it gave me an error. There are a few parameters in the main script "separateLeadStereoPar...

Re: Reduce voice not eliminate

Hi. It's called "separateLeadStereo" and can be found on Github: https://github.com/wslihgt/separateLeadStereo It takes some work to get up and running under Windows (Install Python 2.7.6, set up PIP and install numpy ,scipy and matplotlib dependencies). You absolutely must use a 64 bit edition of b...

Re: .wav file to be converted to mp3

Hi. It's suggested that you upgrade to the latest release of Audacity (2.1.3), which can be found here: http://www.audacityteam.org/download/ You can convert the WAV recording to an MP3 by installing the LAME encoder, which can be found here (look for this: RECOMMENDED Installer Package for Windows:...

Re: How to make voice louder than music?

Hmm. The only application which MIGHT allow you to level out the individual parts in the completed mix is Hit'n'Mix. It allows you to change the volume of the detected notes (note: It mis-detects the instruments like crazy, so you'll have to re-assign the notes to the correct instruments). I've used...

Re: Reduce voice not eliminate

What song is it? It'd help us know whether or not it can be done. Lots of songs these days tend to be laced with reverb and other fancy effects, along with loads of layered vocals. In a few rare cases I've had it work satisfactorily. I personally don't use the built-in vocal remover much, as I use a...

Re: Installation / Version Question 64 bit?

I understand, Steve! It'd be nice to see, but yeah: I totally understand it'd take a monstrous effort to do it, and I respect that. I'm sure there's way more to making it 64 bit than my non-programmer brain could compute! haha

Re: Installation / Version Question 64 bit?

Audacity isn't 64 bit, no. It's 32 bit only. Hopefully someday that'll change...

Re: 64-bit native

Nothing major: It just takes a few seconds to start the preview (noise reduction, high quality pitch change). I'm guessing it'd be even faster if this would be implemented.

Re: 64-bit native

I'm no coder, so please excuse my lack of knowledge on this, but how much refactoring of the code would have to be done to add multi-core support? It'd be great if Audacity could use whatever amount of cores you have in your machine.. Would that improve effect previews? I'm assuming it would.

Re: Take vocals track from full track to obtain instrumental

Kn0ck0ut can do this if your isolated vocal track lines up perfectly with the full mix. The downside is it'll turn into a mono recording. You might need to adjust the isolated vocal track's volume and do some trial and error for it to cancel out fully. I have a tutorial on my YouTube channel regardi...
