Cyrano, Gale, Steve et alia (if any)
I don't see why this thread is here,
Please, don't explain why; I'm already at the end of my tether with my issue unresolved and probably unresolvable issue and prefer not to get crazy because of sidetracking.
Thank you

Re: output sound volume

They should be, as they use OSX's built in USB audio class driver AFAIK. But I'm beginning to doubt that. I've seen other problems with Sennheiser's USB headphones. And I know the USB audio class driver works well on OSX as there are numerous devices out there that use it. I have a number of those ...

Re: output sound volume

Have you tried zapping the pram? Hold down option-command-p-r right after the startup sound to do so...
Zapped the pram. No change whatsoever.
I'm sending the headphones back for repair.
Want them to tell me whether these headphones are compatible with macOS, something I'm beginning to doubt.

Re: output sound volume

Does rebooting the Mac enable the headphones to work at full volume again, at least for a while?
Gale

Re: output sound volume

Sorry but I cannot fix your headphones or make them compatible with Mac. The Apple forums might have some further ideas of things you can try. They may suggest resetting the SMC. Gale I've posted the issue on the Apple forums but never got a reply. As to resetting the SMC, this function doesn't add...

Re: playing audio files

And was that not solved by uninstalling Soundflower? Is Soundflower still uninstalled but that problem has returned? Gale Yes Gale, Soundflower is still uninstalled and the problem always returns. I keep on going to /Library/Preferences/Audio deleting com.apple.audio.DeviceSettings.plist and com.ap...

Re: playing audio files

I have at least five USB audio class compliant interfaces here. None of these show any problem. Admitted, these are USB1 audio class devices, not USB2. I have USB2 only, unfortunately I switch from internal audio to an interface several times a day. It happens completely automatically. And it never...

Re: playing audio files

Well, it's fixed... IIRC, you're not the first to report this problem with a Sennheiser USB headset. Must be something weird in these. Strange, it's a plug and play set; what problem could it cause? I've reported a problem with Audacity, not with the headset , when it was impossible to listen on th...
