ReplayGain in FLAC
I would like to know, how does ReplayGain works on FLAC file format? I have been using MP3Gain for years now. With it I can pump up the volume in MP3 file and reverse that process without quality loss. But I use it for the opposite: if I have to edit and MP3 file, which happens to be pumped up [nd t...

G] turn off "save changes before closing" question, when there were no changes done You could disable this warning altogether (that is, regardless of whether you've made any changes) using the AutoIt or Autohotkey scripting languages (both of which are completely free to use). The basic idea would ...

I have found this post from almost 10 years ago: https://hydrogenaud.io/index.php/topic,44147.0.html
That this mean the support of WV files is not planned; that there haven't been any progress in that matter?

Re: Spectrogram - how to make it the default view upon openi
This will be off-topic Should I change my RazorLame settings from --alt-preset extreme to --alt-preset insane to preserve as much information as possible [if for some reason I'm using MP3 and not FLAC]? If I recall correctly even the RazorLame front end supports command-line arguments so if necessa...

Re: Spectrogram - how to make it the default view upon openi
The highest frequency supported by digital audio is half the sample rate. This is the known as the "Nyquist frequency". The highest frequency that can be displayed in the track spectrogram is half the sample rate (the "Nyquist frequency".[...] And that has nothing to do with splitting between the t...

Re: Spectrogram - how to make it the default view upon openi
I'm using Windows 7 x64. With the addition of SimpleSndVol 2.0.0.2, which allows me to set the balance by clicking on an icon in tray [something than could be done in Windows XP, but for some absurd reason was made impossible in W7] Even if I open only empty Audacity, the balance is reset to equal....

Re: Spectrogram - how to make it the default view upon openi
In that example, the sample rate is 44100 Hz, so the audio "could" contain frequencies up to 22050 Hz. But that's exactly my point: could If the file COULD, then it doesn't mean that Audacity automatically SHOULD assume is has; and thus show an empty space [...] the only way that Audacity could kno...
