Best size for recording room? And what acoustic foam to get?
Hello I've got two rooms to choose from for setting up the recording equipment. Are these two rooms just about the same, or is one clearly preferable to the other? https://s22.postimg.io/h2589qyep/two_rooms.png And would acoustic foam such as this be fine (retails at 12.49$ / six panels at eBay), or...

Re: Can you get real time echo in Audacity?
And I thought I should add, Rachel from Rachel's English (millions of view, thousand of customers), recommended that I'd use Audacity for accent reduction. I suppose she gives that advice to the other people she assists as well. Here's her channel https://www.youtube.com/c/rachelsenglish/videos Gett...

Re: Making the Voice Sound Better - are there macros?
Yes, the room has mostly bare floors; impressive, Koz. I've made a new recording with mono, and I've done like you suggested and added a little theater to my voice. Pretty close with the accent guess. Like Dutch, my language is in the Germanic group, but it's North Germanic: Norwegian. I've tried to...

Re: Making the Voice Sound Better - are there macros?
At first quick pass I don't hear anything wrong with it, but we do need to be able to download it. What's the secret? Do you have to condition the posting to allow downloading? Seems like I had to. I've adjusted the settings, and the two clips are now downloadable. It's very common to point to the ...

Re: Can you get real time echo in Audacity?
I am using Audacity to learn to speak German. First I listen to a sentence, then I say the sentence out loud, and listen. But is there a way to turn on "real time echo" so I can hear what I've said 3-4 seconds later? Even if Audacity did support a real-time echo effect, the echo would end up on the...

Re: Making the Voice Sound Better - are there macros?
Hi, Here's the address to the YouTube video with the advice for making the voice sound better on Audacity . I've done everything, and here is my voice without tweaks , and here it is with tweaks . I think it caused some static, but overall maybe it sounds a little better. I've just got started with ...

Making the Voice Sound Better - are there macros?
I have found a guide called "How To Make Your Voice Sound Better in Audacity" on YouTube, but it takes a while to do everything described. So I wonder, when I've made a recording, are there any macros so this exact thing is done in one-click?

Right now I have to record, rewind, and press play.

Re: Recording flash cards, trimming end of audio file possib
Depends on how one would define educational purposes. I will record the names of all capitals and countries with associations, and then listen to them to learn it one and for all.
I guess the question is mostly support related. I will try Transport. I am using Audacity 2.1.1

Recording flash cards, trimming end of audio file possible?
Hello! I click on play with my recorded flash cards, and then let Audacity record all the 100+ cards into one large mp3 file. But is there a way of either getting it to stop recording when the sounds have ended, or trim the silence at the end? If I leave the PC while it records, there will inevitabl...
