Mac thinks 2.3.2 is 32-bit
I just deleted Audacity 2.3.0 on my Mac running Mojave and installed Audacity 2.3.2. When I run the System Report on the Mac, Audacity is listed as Legacy Software and the Reason: 32-bit. Is there a 32-bit version of Audacity 2.3.2 that perhaps was installed instead of the 64-bit version? Or is ther...

Re: Distortion (not clipping) introduced on import to iTunes
If you play the exported AIF in some software other than iTunes (quicklook [select file and press spacebar] would do), do you hear the distortion? If you import the AIF into Audacity and play it back, do you hear the distortion? -- Bill Oh my! Now my iTunes import is NOT sounding distorted like it ...

Distortion (not clipping) introduced on import to iTunes
I have been importing lots of vinyl recorded in Audacity into iTunes without a problem, but I just had about 500 msec of a song import with distortion. The attached file shows the spectrogram of the section that shows primarily in the left channel evidence of damage to the record. Distortion Section_...

Re: Stereo to Mono for playback comparison?
You can change how the buttons work with Edit > Preferences > Tracks > Solo Button [option] > OK. Koz Changing the function of the solo from "Standard" to "Simple" actually works exactly as the original poster had requested without any need for a plugin. Just create a new stereo track, copy the ori...

New Vinyl Record Converted to Digital
I have completed conversion of about 50 records (mostly 60s and 70s rock) in my vinyl-to-digital conversion. Most of the records are in good condition, although I am still spending a great deal of time identifying pops and ticks. Now that I have some good experience identifying the defects, I am qui...

Re: Improved Click/Pop Removal
I should have included that I expand the time scale so that my screen displays only about 260 milliseconds of the recording at a time.

Re: Improved Click/Pop Removal
I know this is a late response to the original post, but I thought I would throw in my two-cents-worth of experience. I have been converting my 1960s and 1970s vinyl (rock) using Audacity, and I have spent a very large amount of time working on click and pop removal. I gave up on the Click Removal f...

Where is Frequency Analysis?
I was reading a thread in another forum about using Audacity to transfer vinyl to digital, and there was a function in Audacity mentioned, Frequency Analysis, which will do exactly what I'm trying to do with Audacity. The function is supposed to be under Analyze in the menu bar, but I can't find it ...
