Re: Equalizer range
Steve's type of answer is technically lame and annoying. I would not stay here if it goes that way.

Re: Equalizer range
I got around to checking what Trebor said. It's not a good accommodation for my point. The frequencies aren't labelled about 30k. The sliders for adjustment only go to 20khz. Not even 22, so above 20 is not changed. It's possible to draw the curve, but again no frequencies labelled. I see it's possi...

Re: is there a way to bump up volume equally automatically?
it seems like both compressor and leveler will bump up the audio regardless.. so it will make the softer part of the audio louder but it will also bump up the louder part making it even louder.. Not exactly. It evens out the levels. But yes the thing does sound louder after that because the quiet i...

Re: Speed change error
When we give you a negative percent you must ADD that to 100 to get your factor.

Re: Speed change error
Sounds like confusion between change BY% versus change TO%. If I want to change 100 by 50% that gives 150. But you change it TO 50% which gives it 200s. Does everyone feel Audacity is clear enuf on this for users? I'm thinking that when we say we want to decrease speed by 20%, that is not the same a...

Speed change error
Audacity has a program error in the way it does speed change. Say I want to change from 100 sec to 110s. That's a 10% change. -10%. But Aud increases it by 11 sec. It figures 10% of 110s is 10%.
Basic arithmetic logic. Or maybe you are using a different valid logic.
All versions including 2.1.1.

Re: Equalizer range
Also wanted to take an opportunity to mention that in Aud v1 there was the preset NAB equalizer (National Assoc of Broadcasters, US). I liked that one sometimes but you dropped it from v2. You added AM radio, which is interesting. NAB is similar but not same as RIAA. It helped with some thin digital...

Re: is there a way to bump up volume equally automatically?
My levelling did not take me to the top or above it.Yes. Read Leveler - Audacity Manual. We are only keeping Limiter until we release a new distortion effect.
I didn't think it was a compressor because it should just raise the top, not compress the bottom.

Re: is there a way to bump up volume equally automatically?
Really? That's a disappointment. Actually leveller is better for his purpose.Leveler creates distortion.
Wonder how it causes distortion, just from selective normalization.

Re: Equalizer range
If you increase the sample-rate Audacity's built-in equalizer changes accordingly ... Well, I wondered if that might happen. But anyway there are other products out there too. I've seen music where the 22h bar is a third of the way up, so there was sound beyond that. We should see it in a graph as ...
