Re: Recording dropouts are fixed

I came to it by chance. I reinstalled 10 for other reasons and ran it at its default resolution for my system, which is lower than my chosen 1278 x 1024.

A trick to hand onto others with the same problem?

Recording dropouts are fixed

I got crackles when recording MIDI to audio in Vista and 10 but not XP nor 7. I fixed it in 10 by bringing the screen resolution down.

My feedback on Windows 10 and Audacity

r911513f-2.1.3-alpha-15-mar fixed the error about not finding devices. At first I still couldn't record, but I could after leaving my PC off overnight.

The bugs and lack of hardware support in 10 mean that I have gone back to 7.

Re: Weird Crackle or pop sound when recording

Sounds like the problem I had but not as bad as mine. Read http://forum.audacityteam.org/viewtopic ... 46&t=89998 for ways to try fixing it.

Re: Drive speeds

The crackles came back. Upgrading to 7 64bit has, for now, got rid of them.

Re: 64bit?

Linux has an x64 Audacity too, but none of my plugins are for Linux. I'll have to stick with x86.

That's Microsoft hiding features again. Easily fixed. Once you've followed the link below, restart Audacity or click Rescan Audio Devices in the Transport menu, then after whichever you choose to do open the drop-down menu for the recording devices and click Stereo Mix. http://www.howtogeek.com/howt...

Re: Drive speeds

I reinstalled Windows for another reason. I installed a RAM disc and left out TuneUp Utilities. Glitches gone. The problem I had with Control Panel not opening has gone, too. I have never had a system tune up app that did any good, Windows nor Android. I've had battery-saving ones that drained the b...
