Re: Waveform antialiasing
Please, no blurring, anti-aliasing or whatever. A waveform should be as true as possible to the waveform. It doesn't matter if it doesn't look good. It needs to be accurate, not good looking! I don't like these no-sayers. You can't say no to an additional option that you won't choose. And it seems ...

Re: Waveform antialiasing
Wrong, anti aliasing is a visual effect that blurs the image. That's a fact: http://i.stack.imgur.com/pA7uy.png See? A monochromatic line becomes a blurred image, with different opacity pixels that the effect is actually making up. The closest draw to the reality is the one that has no effects adde...

Re: Waveform antialiasing
In case someone believes rambomhtri's arguments against antialiasing I want to clarify it. Excuse me if I'm wrong, but what you used right there is NOT anti-aliasing, or at least that's not a good anti-aliasing, cause you're adding quite a lot more bars than the original picture. It was the best pic...

Re: Handling of double clicks reduces zooming speed
I don't know what previous problem you are referring to I was referring to the fact that when implementing something there are issues to resolve to get the feature first working. Maybe the issue of right double clicks was overlooked from the beginning while the issue of left double clicks wasn't. d...

Re: Unsatisfying spectrogram
I wasn't thinking of producing interpolated amplitude values, but just of a graphical transition from one "brightness factor" to another on the y-axis. This would involve just a few pixels for every band. See the attached image.steve wrote:I don't think that "blurring" is the correct approach.

Re: Shortcuts for tools
I would appreaciate single-letter shortcuts for the tools like the selection tool and the zoom tool. They could be mentioned in their tooltip: "Selection tool (S)". What about S for the selection tool and Z (replacing another shortcut?) for the zoom tool? There is nothing stopping you changing the ...

Handling of double clicks reduces zooming speed
Hello, it seems the issue of double clicks when zooming is only half-resolved. When you zoom in with fast left mouse clicks, there's no problem, but when you zoom out with fast right mouse clicks, double clicks are handled and reduce the amount of zoom-out operations performed. (Windows 8.1, Audacit...

Re: Waveform antialiasing
Great to hear that it has already been considered. Would it be a rendering with peak and RMS again? Is there a chance for James and other developers to be interested in this thread and my proposal?
