how do i listen to the music i am about to record without having to record it and play it back or even listen to it as i am recording so i can set the rec levels?

i have the same turntable but got it as a gift at christmas and have no disk which means no drivers. would it be possible for uou to send me the drivers for it as i am having real difficulty getting my pc to acknowledge it . i am using windows 8.1
